Layering Love Polished Stone Card

The beautiful Polished Stone Background is the star of this card.

The Polished Stone Technique involves Reinkers, Rubbing Alcohol, cotton balls and Glossy cardstock. I used three drops of Marina Mist and three drops of Wild Wasabi ink on a cotton ball soaked with rubbing alcohol. Daub the Glossy cardstock with the cotton ball until it is well covered.

Take a second cotton ball and dab on any pools of ink. Keep dabing if you wish. The more you dab, the more cloudy and covered the cardstock becomes. I tried to leave lots of white in between the ink dots. The background looks like a Monet painting!

Put the Glossy cardstock mat aside to dry.

Stamp the “Live laugh love” sentiment using Wild Wasabi ink on the small Whisper White card mat. Attach this mat to the small Wild Wasabi Card mat using Tear n Tape or Snail.

Attach the Glossy cardstock mat to the large Wild Wasabi mat using Tear n tape.
Attach the piece of Gold Ribbon across the centre of the mat piece and attach with Tear n Tape.
Attach this mat piece to the Marina Mist Card Base using Tear n Tape or Snail.

Attach the sentiment mat across the centre of the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp the large Whisper White mat with the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.
Attach this mat to the inside of the card using Tear n Tape or Snail.

The Polished Stone Technique makes me feel like an artist!
