Eastern Palace Sunflower Card

Image

Inspired by other projects, this is my take on a sunflower card. This is a totally different look to the other cards I have made so far with the Eastern Palace Suite.

With this card I was trying to have a sunflower poking over a brick wall with it's face to the sun of course! I used three different framelit sets - Everyday Jars framelits for the sunflower stem, the Layering Circles framelits (two circles and a scalloped circle) for the sunflower centre and perimeter and the Eastern Palace framelits for the Sunflower and for the sentiment piece.

I also wanted to give the card a variety of textures and dimensions by using two Textured impressions embossing folders as well as using my bone folder to press the petals of the sunflower open.

I also tried to "age" the card a little and make it a bit vintage by using soft suede ink and a sponge dauber around the edges of the mat, on the brick wall and on the petals of the sunflower and sentiment piece.
What do you think of this very different look using the Eastern Palace suite?
